Typing and information stored on your device

Core typing, offline word suggestions and corrections run on your device. The keyboard accesses the active text field as needed to enter text and offer local suggestions. Ghekko Keys does not send typed text, selected text, passwords, clipboard contents or host-field context to a Ghekko Keys server, and does not log that content for analytics. Your operating system may use its own keyboard in secure or unsupported fields.

If you enable personal learning, learned words are stored locally and can be viewed or removed in the companion app. Keyboard settings, languages, themes, saved snippets and local Pro purchase status are stored in app-private storage or, on iPhone, storage shared between the companion and Ghekko Keys keyboard extensions. Snippets can contain text you enter. Avoid storing sensitive information in a snippet unless you want it kept on your device. The app does not create a Ghekko Keys account.

Optional translation with Google ML Kit

Translation is optional. You type a temporary draft in the keyboard; where the active app supports it, an on-device translation appears in the text field. Google states that ML Kit processes translation input and output on the device and does not send that text to Google servers. Language models and updates may be downloaded from Google. ML Kit sends performance and usage metrics to Google. Google's Android and iOS disclosure guides describe device and app information, installation identifiers, API configuration, selected translation languages, events and errors; the Android guide also describes the size of input and output, rather than the text itself. Google processes this SDK information under its own privacy policy. Basic typing does not require a model download or a network connection. On iPhone, optional Full Access is needed for the keyboard extension to download translation models; basic typing works without it.

Pro Lifetime purchases

Apple App Store or Google Play handles a Pro Lifetime purchase and its payment details under the store's policies. Ghekko Keys keeps a local purchase status or proof to enable Pro features and checks ownership with the store when needed, including on restore. Ghekko Keys does not store payment-card details.

Retention, deletion and choices

Local settings, learned words and snippets remain until you change or remove them or uninstall the app, subject to device backup behavior. The companion offers controls for learned words and keyboard preferences. Android backup rules exclude Pro proof, snippets and the personal dictionary. iPhone backup behavior depends on Apple's device and iCloud settings; an in-app deletion may not remove a separate backup copy. Apple and Google retain purchase records under their own policies, and Google controls retention of ML Kit metrics.

You can select another keyboard, disable personal learning, remove learned words or uninstall Ghekko Keys.
